Salapatas with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Salapatas celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Attributing more than 50 years to his professional success, Mr. Salapatas is an industrial engineer who has served as a senior partner of Quality Management Consulting since 1991. Prior to transitioning into quality management, he spent 18 years in Florida, where he worked as a manager of project control services for Florida Power and Light Company Inc. Among his other noteworthy commitments, he also maintained involvement as the vice president of projects for Harnischfeger Engineers Inc., the vice president of the quality service division of Donohue & Associates, and a senior consultant for DeVry University at the Corporate Center for Education. He also taught as a senior faculty member at the Keller Graduate School of Management.

As an industrial engineer, Mr. Salapatas has excelled by first examining the big picture, then utilizing a systems-oriented approach. A problem solver who sees every challenge as an opportunity, his decades of work in industrial engineering has been a process of bringing the varied engineering disciplines together and simplifying complex objects to find solutions. Mr. Salapatas has also found much success by following his own philosophy of what he has dubbed "Life's High Five©," which includes seeking truth, always learning, sharing knowledge, respecting others and having faith.

Mr. Salapatas holds several patents in his field. He has also authored numerous works, including "Quality Project Management" in 2014, "Managing Project Risk" in 2015 and "Industrial and Systems Engineering: The Fundamentals" in 2019, which are courses provided by SunCam and accepted by engineering boards to provide continuing education to engineers. Additionally, he has contributed several chapters in "The Implementation of Project Management Handbook," as well as to the third edition of "Maynard's Industrial Engineering Handbook." Mr. Salapatas also developed his own website, "High School PM," to demonstrate to high school students how project management can help them in their own lives, while also preparing them for a life focused on technology.

Since embarking upon his career, Mr. Salapatas has been active with numerous civic organizations. He has held leadership positions with the American National Standards Institute, and was a member of the State of Florida Governor's Commission on Management and Efficiency. Likewise, during the course of his career Mr. Salapatas has maintained membership with the Project Management Institute and the Professional Engineers Society. He is also a senior member of the American Society for Quality and a lifetime member of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers.

Mr. Salapatas received a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering at Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago in 1955. He later acquired a Master of Science in management at Florida International University in Miami in 1979. Mr. Salapatas has been registered as a professional engineer in the states of Illinois, Florida, Washington and Pennsylvania, and earned certification as a project management professional through the Project Management Institute. Apart from his professional credentials, Mr. Salapatas has been a First Dan in taekwondo since 1999. Mr. Salapatas is a member of the Assumption of Theotokos Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Denver, Colorado. He lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado with his wife of 18 years Lititia A. Salapatas, formerly Letitia Kirk, Ed.D., Who's Who in Education 1988-1990. The Salapatas family includes daughter, Deborah A. Lewis, two sons, James Christian Kirk and Michael Edward Kirk, there granddaughters, three grandsons, and two great-grandsons.
