Debra Lynne MacWilliams Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

An accomplished listee, Ms. MacWilliams celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in his field. Ms. MacWilliams began her career as a teacher of gifted and talented students and as a reading specialist at Letchworth Central School in Gainesville, New York, in 1988. She spent nearly three decades in the classroom. Several years before retiring, Ms. MacWilliams accepted her first academic position as an adjunct professor in the department of social sciences at State University of New York, Genesee Community College, in Batavia, in 2003 and became a successful language arts consultant.

An instrumental figure in her community for many years, Ms. MacWilliams began volunteering for the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation in Washington and Camp Good Days and Special Times in Rochester, New York, in 1986. She was later elected to the executive committee of the Cub Scouts of the Geneseo Region in Batavia from 1991 to 1992 and served as a parent network coordinator for the Association for Pediatric Patients in Buffalo, New York. A devoted civic advocate, Ms. MacWilliams has continued to volunteer her time as a school coordinator for the American Cancer Society's Wyoming County unit as a school coordinator since 1988, where she was notably recognized with an Outstanding Service Award in 1992 for her services.

Mr. MacWilliams studied at State University of New York, where she earned a Bachelor of Art in liberal arts in 1977 and a Master of Science in education in 1988. Eminently qualified in her field, she is certified as an elementary education teacher and reading specialist in the state of New York. Likewise, to further enhance her career, Ms. MacWilliams has been aligned with several prominent industry-related organizations. Among them, she is a member of the New York State Reading Association, the Advocacy for Gifted and Talented Education, the Mary Jemison Reading Council, and the International Reading Association. She is also a member of Phi Delta Kappa.
