Ron Bolles Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    CHULA VISTA, CA, November 09, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Ron Bolles with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Bolles celebrates many years of experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Fully recognizing that from God all blessings flow, Mr. Bolles began his tenure in music and arts education in 1972 at Castle Park Junior High School in Chula Vista. From 1974 to 1999, he found success at Bonita Vista Senior High School, where he developed his students into brilliant musicians. During this time, Mr. Bolles had the autonomy and organizational skills to develop and maintain his own music program, which became highly successful.

Among his many accomplishments, Mr. Bolles directed the school choirs and helped his students accrue a total of 444 awards at festivals and competitions. Outside of the classroom, he received the opportunity to direct the choirs for four area churches in San Diego, La Jolla, and Chula Vista between 1973 and 1987. Mr. Bolles also served as the Facilitator for the School for Creative and Performing Arts at Chula Vista High School from 1999 to 2008.

Upon retiring from his teaching career, Mr. Bolles worked as the choir director and New Hope Arts Academy director for New Hope Community Church in Chula Vista from 2000 to 2011. He further excelled as a Worship and Arts Director and Concert Series Manager for La Jolla Presbyterian Church in San Diego from 2011 to 2020. Additionally, Mr. Bolles dedicated his time and expertise to the Sweetwater Union High School District's Strategic Arts Plan in 2011.

Mr. Bolles has continued to make an impact in his field as an audio engineer for several performing groups at various retirement homes and civic events since 2011. Furthermore, Mr. Bolles founded the Christian Charitable Cycling Club - "Outspokin' For Jesus!", the Scholar's Music Project, the South Bay Community Chorale, and was Founder/Coordinator of the South Bay Alliance for Arts Education.

Among his notable works, Mr. Bolles directed the internationally known "Music Machine" show choir from 1976 to 1999. In addition to winning numerous local, regional and national awards, the choir participated in cultural exchange tours to sixteen countries on four continents from 1983-1999. He also co-authored "Preparing an Awesome Musical Theater Audition" with Reina Bolles in 1983 and the award-nominated book, "Learning That Lasts a Lifetime" with Reina Bolles in 2011. Mr. Bolles served as a member and Chairman of the Cultural Arts Commission of the City of Chula Vista from 2001-2007, and was recruited as a production assistant for the Chula Vista Centennial Celebration in 2011.

With his wife, Reina, he co-founded the Bolles Arts Foundation in 2008 and Bolles Arts International in 2009. More recently, Mr. Bolles founded and directed the San Diego Street Choir from 2016-2021. He has been likewise affiliated with the National Alliance for Music in Vulnerable Communities, the Music Educators National Conference, the California Music Educators Association, and the Southern California Vocal Association. Mr. Bolles was also a board member and past president of the San Diego City/County Music Educators Association between 1983 and 1988.

Mr. Bolles earned a Bachelor of Arts in vocal music education and a Master of Arts in education at San Diego State University in 1971 and 1975, respectively. He also obtained lifetime certification as a secondary teacher. In addition to these accomplishments, Mr. Bolles along with his wife, Reina Bolles, received an Honorary Degree from Southwestern College in 2017. The gifted couple also received the San Diego Arts Education Leadership Award in 2011 from Young Audiences/Arts for Learning.

Mr. Bolles was notably recognized as Teacher of the Year by San Diego County in 1987 and San Diego State University Alumnus of the Year in 1989. Upon retirement from classroom teaching in 1999, he was eponymously honored with the Bolles Theater at Bonita Vista High School. He was inducted into the Herbert Hoover High School Alumni Hall of Fame in 1999. Mr. Bolles was named California Music Educator of the Year in 2004. Upon retirement from public education administration at the Chula Vista School for the Creative and Performing Arts, the County of San Diego and the City of Chula Vista both celebrated him with Ron Bolles Day in 2008. In 2009 he was inducted into the California Music Education Hall of Fame. Furthermore, in 2018, the San Diego Street Choir under his direction received a proclamation from the Mayor of San Diego for its success in supporting programs that serve people experiencing housing insecurity, Soli Deo Gloria. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Bolles has been cited in the 60th edition of Who's Who in America, the 22nd through 24th editions of Who's Who in the West and the fourth edition of Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
