After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice and political science from Michigan State University, Mr. Sanak began his career as a financial analyst for General Electric Capital Corporation. Following this period, he worked as a sales executive for IBM, where he also became a client executive for the Toyota Motor Sales USA Account.
Later in his career, Mr. Sanak and his husband, Mr. Scott Palermo, became passionate about real estate and helping others find success in the field. Still new to the real estate business, they found mentorship from five of the top agents in the Westside of Los Angeles. In 2016, they elected to move their business from Los Angeles to Palm Springs, California. As the leader of his own brokerage, Mr. Sanak wanted to provide the same level of guidance and mentorship that he had received in his own career. In 2015, the couple established Harcourts Desert Homes, and set out to coach hand-selected agents in order to help them find success.
Mr. Sanak and his husband are the principal owners of Harcourts Desert Homes, a franchise of Harcourts International that began in Australia and New Zealand in 1888. After developing from its origins as a land auction company, Harcourts became the sixth largest real estate brokerage in the world. Over the years, they have become known for their high-level professional service and for offering a non-distressed live auction platform.
In 2020, Mr. Sanak sold a 10,000-square-foot modern estate at Bighorn Golf Club, one of the most prestigious country clubs in the country. A remarkable achievement as the onsite sales office had previously held the listing for more than two years before it was acquired by Harcourts Desert Homes. His company successfully sold this property for $6.9 million. Most recently, in 2021, they sold a 15,000-square-foot home at The Vintage Club – the most exclusive country club in the Coachella Valley. This was another notable achievement as this property had languished on and off the market for more than 10 years with various brokerages.
For his efforts as an accomplished real estate agent, Mr. Sanak has received much recognition from various industry organizations over the years. Among them, he has been listed in Modern Luxury Palm Springs Magazine, Modern Luxury Angeleno Magazine, Modern Luxury San Diego Magazine, L.A. Confidential Magazine, and Palm Springs Life Magazine. Mr. Sanak also won more than 35 sales production awards over the past six years.
As a dedicated member of his community, Mr. Sanak has been active with the Desert AIDS Project, through which he helps provide medical assistance to uninsured patients in his local area. He also fundraises for the Eisenhower Medical Center and various charities. Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Sanak has attributed his professional success to his mentors, and his experience as a member of the Michigan State University Spartan Marching Band, through which he learned the importance of discipline, focus, always being prepared and teamwork.
