Marquis Who's Who Recognizes Andrew C. Dickler, MD, FACC, for Career in Medicine

    SAINT LOUIS, MO, November 10, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Andrew C. Dickler, MD, FACC, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. An esteemed critical care physician and cardiologist, Dr. Dickler has been affiliated with Mercy Virtual Care in Saint Louis since 2007. Among his many responsibilities when doing bedside critical care, he reserved his mornings to conduct comprehensive rounds of his patients before collaborating extensively with students, residents and interns. Concerned for the well-being of all his patients, Dr. Dickler strives to take excellent care of each of them and serve as a reassuring presence to their families and loved ones.

Proficient in both general and neurocritical care, Dr. Dickler has worked for over 40 years in the field. Among his roles, he has held various positions with Christian Hospital in St. Louis, St. Anthony's, Mercy South Medical Center in St. Louis as well as Aloha Critical Care Group in Honolulu, St. Claire Hospital in St. Louis and St. Luke's Hospital in St. Louis. Furthermore, Dr. Dickler taught as an associate professor of medicine at the University of Hawaii.

Among his many career highlights, Dr. Dickler is most proud to have created a post-arrest hypothermia program at Saint Anthony's in 2005. The program, which is a cardiac treatment specific for those that have experienced cardiopulmonary arrest, quickly gained success and popularity throughout the country. Honoring his dedication to the field, Dr. Dickler was the recipient of the Golden Bed Pan Award, which was presented to him by the medical and surgical intensive care unit nurses at Saint Anthony's Southwest Medical Center in Saint Louis.

Drawing inspiration from the example of his father, a prominent anesthesiologist, Dr. Dickler attained a Doctor of Medicine at Washington University in 1978. He was notably accepted to medical school during his third year of undergraduate studies. Following this accomplishment, he completed a residency in internal medicine at Washington University/Barnes-Jewish Hospital in 1981 and a fellowship in cardiology at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in 1983. In addition to holding medical licenses in various states, he remains certified in critical care medicine, cardiovascular disease and internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine. Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Dickler has been involved in martial arts since 1972, during which time he has earned a third-degree black belt.
