Janet Hayward Burnham Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Ms. Burnham has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the field of arts and entertainment

BETHEL, VT, November 10, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Janet Hayward Burnham with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Burnham celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

An award-winning author, illustrator, writer and poet, Ms. Burnham has accumulated nearly 10 books, including her most recent mystery, titled "Evil Has a Key," in 2020. Passionate about writing for as long as she can remember, she has also leveraged her talents by contributing in an array of well-known professional publications, such as Vermont Life Magazine, which was where her very first magazine article was published, as well as the Boston Globe, the Herald of Randolph, Yankee, Women's World, New York Daily News and the Rutland Herald. Some of Ms. Burnham's poems have garnered tremendous success as well, eight of which were featured in Cricket Magazine and Spider Magazine.

Some of Ms. Burnham's other books include "Love Takes a Country Road," "Jeremy the Puny" and "Love in the Mountains." Her books "Out of Time," "The Dragoness Mess" and "A Week Ago Cat" were notably all Cricket Review recipients. She also authored a book, "The History of United Church of Bethel," which was a 200-year account of the history of the Vermont church, and a cookbook of favorite recipes from the church's congregation titled "How to Cook a Husband." Additionally, Ms. Burnham authored "Vermont's Elusive Architect: George H. Guernsey," which is the story of the native Vermonter who fought in the Civil War and later became the mayor of Montpelier. Guernsey was also an architect all over the state of Vermont, designing churches and business buildings from St. Albans to Bennington. Serving as the illustrator for many of her books, she also illustrated "Crazy Jane," a children's book by author Vivian Kill.

In addition to her extensive writing background, Ms. Burnham taught art at Orwell Village School in Vermont for over five years. She also co-founded her own publishing company, My Little Jessie Press in 2004, which is where most of her books were printed. As a member of her local community, Ms. Burnham became active with the Historical Society of Bethel. Her involvement is what led to the publishing of her writing the history books and cookbook. There was also a postcard (the emails of yesteryear) book in memory of her husband (Vermont, Pretty as a Postcard 1900-1923).

Ms. Burnham holds a Bachelor of Arts in writing from Castleton University. She also completed coursework at Columbia University and the University of Connecticut. A professional member of the Poetry Society of Vermont and the League of Vermont Writers, both organizations have been instrumental in Ms. Burnham's success.
