An international business leader with years of expertise in finance, accounting, taxation and internal auditing, Ms. Fulton is known for continuous process improvement and for being an expert in financial reporting and internal controls, including IFRS conversions and the implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley processes. Backed by her vast breadth of knowledge, she excels as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). She reports to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, leads management meetings and annual budgeting processes, serves as a key liaison for the board of directors, and serves as a key member of the executive team. Alongside her work at ABS, she is a board member and audit committee chair of Targa Resources Corp.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Fulton gained valuable expertise in the field as the Chief Financial Officer of Hi-Crush Inc., where she helped take the company public in 2012. She also served as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accounting Officer of AEI Services, LLC, through which she played a significant role in divestiture of 80% of businesses and restructuring of remaining businesses and Houston headquarters staff, and as a General Auditor with Lyondell Chemical Co., where she also worked as Assistant Controller. Her first role was as an audit senior manager for Deloitte & Touche, through which she created and coordinated a continuing education program for the company's staff and developed a monitoring program for compliance with Government Auditing Standards continuing education requirements for more than 100 professionals in their Houston and San Antonio offices.
Before embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Fulton earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, cum laude, from Texas A&M University in 1985. Outside of her work endeavors, she devotes her time to others as a member of the Dean's Advisory Board for the Mays College of Business at Texas A&M University, where she also serves on the James M. Benjamin Department of Accounting Advisory Board. At Texas A&M University, she is also a member of the leadership council for the Association of Former Students.
In light of her professional achievements, Ms. Fulton has been honored several times. In addition to being named CFO of the Year through the Houston Business Journal in 2013 and becoming a finalist in 2018, she was honored in Women in Energy through the Houston Business Journal in 2014, inducted into the Accounting Hall of Honor at Texas A&M University in 2018, recognized in the Top 25 Influential Women in Energy by Oil & Gas Investor in 2019, and named an Outstanding Alumni of the Mays College of Business at Texas A&M University in 2020. Although her career has been filled with highlights, she is most proud of taking Hi-Crush through the initial public offering process. Looking toward the future, Ms. Fulton aspires to continue in her current role and eventually retire so that she may start serving her community to a greater extent.
