Mr. Nawaz obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from East Texas Baptist University in 2013 and continued his education with a Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University in 2018. He is an advanced practice registered nurse in Texas and Louisiana and holds certifications as a Critical Care Registered Nurse, in cardiac surgery and medicine from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, and in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association. Furthermore, Mr. Nawaz is registered as an adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner.
From 2013 to 2015, Mr. Nawaz provided his services as a registered nurse in the intensive care unit for Trinity Mother Frances Health System in Tyler. He subsequently served as a pro re nata nurse with Christus Mother Frances from 2015 to 2019. Beginning in 2019, Mr. Nawaz made an impact as a full-time hospitalist nurse practitioner with the Northern Louisiana Medical Center in Ruston. He is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses and has been nominated for a DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Foundation Award, which honors nurses who provide exceptional care for patients and their families.
Mr. Nawaz attributes much of his success to his father, whose encouragement was integral to his early development. He was inspired to become a nurse following an injury he sustained while wrestling, after which he was treated by a male nurse. In coming years, Mr. Nawaz hopes to continue serving his patients, and to begin teaching his colleagues how to become effective nurses in their own right.
