LAWRENCEVILLE, GA, December 06, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- William B. Martin, MD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

For more than 15 years, Dr. Martin has prospered as the co-founder and medical director of The Hope Clinic, Inc., in Lawrenceville, Georgia, which provides comprehensive medical care to uninsured, underinsured and indigent patients ages 18 and above. The Hope Clinic, Inc. is a family affair; Dr. Martin's wife, Pam, is the business manager/CFO. His daughter, Jessica, is the grant writer. His granddaughter, Ansley, is the IT person. His daughter-in-law, Veronica, is the compliance officer.

With over five decades of medical experience, Dr. Martin specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and high cholesterol. Dr. Martin also oversees a team of medical providers, and actively explores new opportunities to increase the accessibility of The Hope Clinic's many services.

Prior to the establishment of The Hope Clinic, Dr. Martin thrived as a staff physician with the Gwinnett Hospital System for 30 years between 1972 and 2002. He previously served in the United States Army as a flight surgeon during the Vietnam War in the early 1970s. Alongside his responsibilities as a physician and medical director at The Hope Clinic, Dr. Martin also utilizes the "Billy Fund," which is derived from his nickname, to finance MRIs and other medical procedures for patients with limited or no access to health care.

In 2000, Dr. Martin became one of only six physicians in the State of Georgia to obtain Provider Recognition status on behalf of the American Diabetes Association. He attributes his success to his firm commitment to his professional development. Earlier in his career, he completed pre-medical coursework at The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina, followed by a Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of South Carolina in 1966. Thereafter, he did an internship and residency at the Emory Veterans Affairs Grady Health System. Following this period, he became board certified in clinical lipidology.

In the coming years, Dr. Martin intends to further the expansion of The Hope Clinic to provide their services to as many individuals as possible.
