Supported by a passion for the field of biology and a desire to help others, Dr. Reshamwala launched her career in medicine as a pediatric resident at the University of California Irvine between 2004 and 2007. She subsequently became a physician specializing in pediatrics as a hospitalist at Millers Children Hospital in 2007-2008 and at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center from 2010 until 2012, where she gained valuable expertise. A seasoned allergist and immunologist with many years of expertise at her disposal, Dr. Reshamwala has found success as a physician with Greater Austin Allergy, Asthma & Immunology from 2012 until 2020. After parting ways with Greater Austin Allergy in late 2020, Dr. Reshamwala has established her own practice, Frontier Allergy Asthma and Immunology, in North Austin where she continues to provide outstanding care to her patients.
In light of her considerable knowledge, Dr. Reshamwala is also involved in several research projects. At Stanford University, she enrolled and evaluated mild-to-moderate asthmatics with viral-mediated exacerbations to determine if treatment outcomes differ with a combination of single drug tests. With Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, Dr. Reshamwala assisted in the development of evidence-based practice algorithm and standardized specific order sets for drug allergy evaluations.
Driven by her love of science, Dr. Reshamwala received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Sociology from Boston College in 1995. She subsequently earned a Master of Science in Immunology along with a post-baccalaureate certificate in Medical Laboratory Sciences from Northeastern University in 1998, a Doctor of Medicine from Drexel University in 2004 and Post-doctoral fellowship in allergy and immunology from Stanford Medical School in 2010. To remain aware of changes in the field, she aligns herself with the Travis County Medical Society, American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, Austin Women's Physician Group, the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, as well as the American Academy of Pediatrics. Throughout the course of her career, Dr. Reshamwala has co-authored a number of publications relevant to her field of study, promulgating publications through such organizations as the National Library of Medicine, Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, and the Journal of Virology.
In recognition of her professional excellence, Dr. Reshamwala was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society through Northeastern University in 2002 and received the Outstanding Community Service Award throughDrexel College of Medicine. In 2008, she also received the Clemens Von Pirquet Award for outstanding abstract and oral presentation at the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology meeting.
