The Honorable John T. McNabb II has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

    HIGHLANDS RANCH, CO, December 21, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Honorable John T. McNabb II has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. McNabb was born in the coal country of Southern West Virginia in 1944 into a hardworking, patriotic and Christian family. Tragically, 18 of his relatives perished in coalmine accidents. Mr. McNabb attended Duke University in 1962 on a football scholarship. During his four years at Duke, he was voted as a team football captain and as Duke Football's Most Valuable Player in 1965. Also in 1965 he was voted onto the All Atlantic Coast Conference team and two All-America teams. Furthermore, Mr. McNabb was selected by Atlantic Coast Conference coaches as the winner of the 1965 Jacobs Blocking Trophy, recognizing him as the best blocker in the Atlantic Coast Conference and Mr. McNabb received the Associated Press Lineman of the Week honor in the Atlantic Coast Conference as well.

Mr. McNabb graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity College at Duke University in 1966. After his military service, Mr. McNabb returned to Duke and earned a Master of Business Administration from the Fuqua School of Business, where he serves as an emeritus member of the school's board of visitors. Mr. McNabb also served as alumni class president for his 1966 Trinity College, Duke University Class.

Mr. McNabb entered the oil and gas industry in 1979 with the exploration and production division of Mobil Oil Corporation and has worked in the energy industry for over 40 years. He is the lead director of Continental Resources, a company founded by Harold G. Hamm, which is a top 10 oil producer in the United States. Previously he served as the chairman and chief executive officer of Willbros Group, one of the world's largest energy contractors that had worked in sixty countries. Mr. McNabb also co-founded a merchant banking firm, Growth Capital Partners, and after its sale to Duff and Phelps, he served as vice chairman of investment banking for that firm.

Outside of his corporate affiliations, Mr. McNabb maintained involvement as the chairman of the board of visitors at the University of Houston, and as the chairman of the dean's executive board of the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston, where he also lectured as an executive professor of finance. In this capacity, he was honored to deliver the convocation addresses at both the University of Houston and at the Great Lakes Institute of Management in Chennai, India.

Mr. McNabb and Harold Hamm co-founded the Trump Leadership Council during the 2016 Presidential Campaign and later, he received a presidential appointment to serve on the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Council (Board of Trustees), where he sits on the governance and finance committees. He is the vice chairman of the Council for a Secure America, which has a strong relationship with the State of Israel and is a leader in promoting American energy independence. Additional civic affiliations to Mr. McNabb's credit include his membership with the United States, Israel and Morocco Business Council, which is an offshoot of the groundbreaking Abraham Accords, serving as vice chairman of the American Leadership Council to support President Trump's economic agenda as well as serving as the chairman of the Free Press Foundation.

Mr. McNabb has served on a total of eight boards of directors of publicly-listed companies, and more than 50 private and nonprofit boards of directors. John and Darlene McNabb manage the affairs of the John and Darlene McNabb Charitable Foundation, which focuses on at-risk children, faith-based education and the teaching of traditional American values. Most recently, Mr. McNabb was named by Harold Hamm to the advisory board of the Hamm Institute for American Energy.

Mr. McNabb obtained his strong and patriotic love for the United States of America in large part due to his military service during the Vietnam War. He was stationed with two tactical fighter wings in Thailand from 1969 until 1971, and recorded 137 combat sorties over Laos, North and South Vietnam and the Gulf of Tonkin. For his gallantry in service, Mr. McNabb was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters, the Air Force Commendation Medal, and was a finalist for Pacific Air Force Junior Officer of the Year in 1970.

Mr. McNabb became a published author in 2021, when he wrote "A Nice Ride: Stories of America," through McNabb Publishing LLC. The 372-page book is an autobiography that includes the histories of great leaders, many of whom were his ancestors. The foreword and accompanying tribute were notably penned by two great American business legends: Harold G. Hamm and Charles C. Stephenson, Jr. Mr. McNabb also writes opinion pieces as a contributing columnist for the World Tribune, which is read in over 20 countries.
