Driven to become a doctor since coming of age, Dr. Kooros earned a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pecs' Medical School in Hungary. Following this accomplishment, he completed a residency through the University Children's Hospital, a second residency through St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center, which is affiliated with Columbia University, and a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition through Tufts Children's Hospital.
Following the commencement of his career, Dr. Kooros gained valuable expertise in the field as a faculty member with the University of Texas' Southwestern Medical Center and the University of Rochester Medical Center as Associate Director of Pediatric GU Fellowship and Director of Endoscopy, and later as the director of advanced endoscopy for Rady Children's Hospital San Diego, where he presently works as a pediatric gastroenterologist. In this capacity, he has developed his specialties in general gastrointestinal disorders, especially as they pertain to people living with Autism. Licensed to practice in California, New York and Texas, he has contributed to a plethora of works, including "Management of Constipation in Children and Adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders," "Evaluation, Diagnosis and Treatment of Gastrointestinal Disorders in Individuals with ASDs: A Consensus Report" and "Omental infarction: Risk Factors in Children."
Due to his outstanding work in the field, Dr. Kooros was named as a Mom-Approved Doctor through Dallas Child Magazine in 2014 and earned the Strong Star Award for Exceptional Service and Displaying Compassion and Respect to Patients, Families and Co-workers through the University of Rochester Medical Center.
