Following her graduation from high school, she obtained a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. After taking time off from her professional pursuits to raise her two children, she eventually earned a bachelor's degree in business prior to discovering her true calling in the form of counseling. Ms. Mason earned a bachelor's degree in counseling from California State University and a master's degree from the University of Phoenix.
Prior to attaining her role at Nevada State Behavioral Health Services, Ms. Mason served as a foster care worker for Child Protective Services and at a private practice for more than 10 years. She is the founder of Simple Life Favor, a life-coaching service. Inspired by the success of her organization, she wrote and published an E-book of the same name. As the clinical director of Nevada State Behavioral Health Services, Ms. Mason is responsible for evaluating the firm's therapists and ensuring that all daily operations are managed in accordance with the mandates of the organization.
To remain aware of advancements in the field, Ms. Mason maintains her membership with the International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors, the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, the Black Business Association and the Female Entrepreneur Association. A driven individual, she is currently pursuing a master's degree in executive leadership from the Liberty Christian School. Ms. Mason attributes her success to both her innate gift for helping people and her calming, diplomatic demeanor. Looking toward the future, she intends to start a podcast and continue writing.
