Prior to earning his licensure as a paramedic in 2018, Mr. McCarrick was active as a volunteer emergency medical technician (EMT) for Rocky Point Fire & EMS for four years. From 2018 to 2020, he refined his expertise while serving as a paramedic for the Bridgehampton Fire District and the Cold Spring Harbor Fire Department. In addition to his primary professional responsibilities, Mr. McCarrick has worked as a member of the Suffolk County Medical Reserve Corps since 2019.
For four consecutive years, Mr. McCarrick was honored by the Rocky Point Fire Department for registering the highest response rate amongst his fellow EMTs. In 2016, he was additionally selected for the forementioned department's EMT of the Year Award. He attributes a great deal of his success to the support of his family, which vehemently encouraged him to enroll in Stony Brook University's most challenging paramedic certification courses. In the coming years, Mr. McCarrick intends to obtain a Bachelor of Science in public health from the Excelsior College and pursue leadership positions in Local/County/State EMS agencies.
