BEL AIR, MD, December 24, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Augustus Freeborn Brown has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

While he initially hoped to become an expository writer after attaining a Bachelor of Arts in English literature and philosophy from Villanova University, Mr. Brown felt compelled by both his college counselor and family history to pursue a career in legal service. Drawing inspiration from his grandfather, who opened a law firm in 1901, and motivated by a longstanding disdain for intolerance, he studied at the University of Baltimore School of Law, from which he attained a Doctor of Jurisprudence, magna cum laude, in 1974. Bearing a great deal of expertise in personal injury and workplace compensation, Mr. Brown serves as the president of Brown, Brown & Young.

Mr. Brown initially began his career as a law clerk under Judge William J. O'Donnell at the Court of Appeals of Maryland from 1974 until 1976, after which he served as an associate attorney for Brown Brown and Lanahan until 1985. Outside of his work as the president of his law firm, he also works as a mediator and arbitrator on behalf of Augustus Brown Alternative Dispute Resolution, and as a trial consultant for other lawyers. Furthermore, he is the owner of Jury Research Services and a trustee emeritus at the John Carroll School. Long affiliated as an instructor with the Maryland State Bar Association, Mr. Brown has also contributed frequently to various professional journals.

Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Brown has held leadership positions with several legal entities. He is a past president of both the Maryland Association for Justice and the Maryland chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a diplomate of the American Association for Justice and past chairperson of the character committee for the Second Appellate Circuit. Well regarded by his peers, Mr. Brown received the Best Lawyers of America Award from Martindale-Hubbell, as well as the Hueisler Honor Society Award for Academic Excellence. In accounting for his success, he credits his dedication to hard work and, in the future, hopes to continue offering his services as a jury focus group facilitator.
