Carla Golding Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Education

Mrs. Golding is a noted educator specializing in family and consumer science

MOLINE, IL, December 24, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Carla Golding has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mrs. Golding commenced her career as a substitute teacher, during which time she excelled in a variety of substitute teaching positions for 10 years and in other, more advanced teaching roles for an additional six years. Following this tenure, she joined the United Township High School in East Moline, Illinois, where she excelled as a family and consumer science teacher for 22 fruitful years. Accruing more than 30 years of expertise in education, she has most enjoyed watching her students succeed.

Drawing upon a prior Bachelor of Science, Mrs. Golding also maintained affiliation with the Wellness Committee of the United Township High School. Alongside this membership, she is also a member of the Quad City Family Consumer Science Association, the Illinois Association for Career and Technical Education, and the Illinois Family and Consumer Science Teachers Association, Area Career and Technical Education. Mrs. Golding also serves on the UTHS staff fund committee. Outside of her primary endeavors, she has received a myriad of accolades for running road races in her spare time and participates in Illinois Pork Producers, an organization that provides financial support to schools whose teachers educate students on cooking pork and beef products.

Although she has experienced many achievements, Mrs. Golding is most proud of watching her students complete a sewing project, which provided her with much fulfillment, knowing that her students absorbed the material and excelled in the task. Additionally, she organized luncheons for high school staff members, for which she and her students created special menus for each member of the staff. Furthermore, she coordinated with the special education classrooms to create one-of-a-kind breakfast events with their special education students, which included coffee, tea, orange juice, cinnamon rolls and scrambled eggs.

Looking toward the future, Mrs. Golding intends to ease into a well-deserved retirement following the completion of the next academic school year. However, she would like to continue attending conferences for family consumer science teachers to garner innovative knowledge in the field and support family consumer science teachers. Alongside her educational pursuits, Mrs. Golding is also a talented baker and has decorated cakes for weddings and other special occasions. Post-retirement, she also plans on developing a business dedicated to cake decorating that will allow her more time to be with her family.
