Jeanette Jordan is Dedicated to Making a Difference

Ms. Jordan, a retired journalist, serves as president of the John Knox Village Resident Senate

POMPANO BEACH, FL, January 04, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jeannette Jordan has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

While attending high school, Ms. Jordan drew inspiration from stories of crusading journalists. After reading about Nellie Bly, who exposed the inhumane conditions at Blackwell's Island women asylum in 1887, she was motivated to make a difference and expose whatever injustices she could. During the early stages of her career, Ms. Jordan gained valuable expertise as managing editor of the Ridgewood News and assistant news editor at the Record, both New Jersey newspapers. She subsequently moved to Florida and worked in journalism for three decades completing her career as the deputy managing editor of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

In January, she assumed a new role -- president of the Resident Senate of John Knox Village, a continuing care residential community in Pompano Beach. In this capacity, she represents 900 village residents, handles issues in concert with the village administration, oversees 11 resident committees and serves as a conduit to the community.

Ms. Jordan holds a Bachelor of Arts in history from Connecticut College, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from the University of Missouri and a Master of Science in counseling from the New York Institute of Technology. Alongside her journalistic work, she dedicated herself to a Palm Beach Counseling Association, where she served as the president. Additionally, Ms. Jordan was president of Chapter 026 of the Florida Life Care Residents Association, (FLiCRA), chair of the JKV Life Enrichment Committee and JKV Book Club and secretary of the JKV Library Committee.

In light of her professional achievements, Ms. Jordan has been honored on many occasions, earning recognitions for public service, such as the Pettyjohn Award. Looking toward the future, she intends to remain active in the JKV Resident Senate. Ms. Jordan is committed to continuing to make a positive difference in her world at John Knox Village.
