From a young age, Mr. Schoen has been involved in his family's business. His father and uncle started the business in 1936 under the name Aluminum Citing Corporation. While Mr. Schoen was in college, his father was unable to fulfill his role; therefore, Mr. Schoen decided to step in and help with operations. In the present day, Mr. Schoen has excelled in a leadership role, and now serves as president and owner of The Home Corporation dba Garfield 1-2323, positions he assumed in 1981. Currently, the business provides home exterior remodeling, including roofs, vinyl siding and replacement windows.
Throughout his career, Mr. Schoen has been most proud of his ability to stay in business, specifically during the COVID-19 pandemic. He has witnessed many others in his position succumb to the economic downfall in light of the pandemic; however, he has managed to find continued success. For his efforts over the years, he received the Super Service Award from Angie's List in 2014 and has been ranked highly by the Better Business Bureau for more than 30 years.
In his community, Mr. Schoen has worked as an assistant football coach at Beachwood High School for five years. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Cleveland State University, which he obtained in 1983. He has attributed his professional success to commitment, his family, and those around him who offer support and encouragement. Looking toward the future, Mr. Schoen plans to continue thriving in his business with the intention of potentially selling the company in the forthcoming years.
