Bill O'Hanlon, EdD, Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Academia

Dr. O'Hanlon is recognized for his dedicated career as an educator



In 2019, Bill O'Hanlon began his present role as the assistant principal of Brandywine High School.

    WILMINGTON, DE, January 27, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bill O'Hanlon, EdD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Dr. O'Hanlon earned a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Delaware in 2008 and went on to attain a Master of Arts in instructional leadership from Neumann University in 2010. Recently, in 2021, he attained a Doctor of Education in educational leadership and administration from Gwynedd Mercy University. He also earned a certificate in secondary school administration and principalship from Wilmington University in 2012.

Prior to starting his career, Dr. O'Hanlon worked as an intern for Mayor James M. Baker for the City of Wilmington, Delaware, in 2003. He then worked as the assistant to the service director at Union Park Automotive, Inc., until 2009, when he subsequently served as the school direct support specialist for The Devereux Foundation. In 2009, he also was a teacher for Eastside Charter School. From 2010 to 2012, he excelled as a teacher for Glasgow High School and then went on to teach at P.S. DuPont Middle School until 2013, when he moved on to teach at Mount Pleasant High School. In 2017, he began serving as dean of students for P.S. DuPont Middle School until 2018, serving in the same capacity at Mount Pleasant High School. In 2019, he began his present role as the assistant principal of Brandywine High School.

A specialist in working with at-risk students as a mentor, Dr. O'Hanlon also serves as a referendum committee member for the Brandywine School District. He was also president of the Brandywine Education Foundation from 2015 to 2020. Dr. O'Hanlon attributes his success to building strong relationships with his students, with the teachers with whom he works, and with community members. He prides himself on leading with sincerity. In this manner, Dr. O'Hanlon's goal is to continue working in a leadership role to positively impact students, teachers and schools.
