Steve Greenstein Recognized by Marquis Who's Who for Excellence in Performing Arts

Mr. Greenstein has thrived as an actor in film, television, and theatre for over three decades

THE BRONX, NY, January 27, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Steve Greenstein has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

For more than three decades, Mr. Greenstein has excelled as an actor in film, television and theatrical productions. A character actor by trade, he has logged over 37 principal roles having been seen in comedies and dramas from "Growing Pains" and "Confessions of a Shopaholic," to more recently in the "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" and "Pose" and performed alongside several Academy Award nominees such as Gary Busey and Tim Robbins. Mr. Greenstein's most notable theatrical performances include as Officer Krupke in the 50th anniversary production of "West Side Story" in London's historic West End, as Harry in the National Tour of "Flashdance the Musical," and as Big Jule in Guys and Dolls at the Old Globe in San Diego.

Since 2020, Mr. Greenstein has found further success as the writer, producer, director and lead actor of "Covid Ditty," which is a web series that explores COVID-19's impact on various residents of a working class neighborhood in the Bronx, New York. Told from the perspective of a father and son, "Covid Ditty" garnered recognition at multiple film festivals such as the Amsterdam International Film Festival and the Barcelona International Film Festival. In 2021, "Covid Ditty" was also selected for a Bronze Award at the Independent Shorts Awards in Los Angeles.

Mr. Greenstein is an actor who loves to write. Prior to "Covid Ditty," he penned two acclaimed solo shows: "From Bubby to Bat Yam" and "Voices from the Holy and not So Holy Land," which toured the States, Europe and Israel. Most recently his play "The Last Jew of Boyle Heights" found success Off Broadway in the 2019 season. Steve is a proud member of both Actors' Equity Association and Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.

He attributes a great deal of his success to his powerful creative spirit, which continuously inspires him to materialize his own ideas into original work. In the coming years, Mr. Greenstein intends to write another play while pursuing his longtime goal of directing a feature film.
