Elizabeth Madison Celebrated for Dedication to Her Local Community

Ms. Madison has given back to others through the St. Lady Madison Scholastic Achievement Award Program

WASHINGTON, DC, February 01, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Elizabeth Madison has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Through the rearing and examples set by her grandmother but most especially, her mother, Ms. Madison has spent over eight decades in service to her national church organization, The United House of Prayer for All People, Church on the Rock of the Apostolic Faith (United House of Prayer). Ms. Madison's exceptional academic abilities were recognized as early as junior high school when she received the American Legion Award for scholarship, leadership, and service. This recognition continued through her high school years during which time Ms. Madison was selected to study accounting, short-hand and other administrative skills. She would later leverage these multi-faceted skills over the course of her life and career, in her lifelong role as Executive Secretary to the former Bishops and present Bishop of the United House of Prayer.

Ms. Madison assumed this role almost immediately upon graduating from high school and because of the extensive responsibilities and travel demands of her work, she earned college credits through correspondence courses. Ms. Madison's life has far exceeded the dreams and goals she imagined for herself. Her career has spanned over 69 years and has afforded her a rich life including travels in support of the Bishops to Cuba, Jerusalem, Rome, Egypt, and multiple destinations across the United States. Over the decades, Ms. Madison has had exposure to an array of cultural and social activities and interfaced with notable political figures, all while continuing to hone her business acumen. Ms. Madison accredits all of her experiential learning to the Bishops for whom she worked and accredits these leaders for her spiritual, civic, and professional accomplishments. In addition to directly aiding the Bishops of the United House of Prayer, which hosts well over 100 congregations across the United States, Ms. Madison also served as a board member for the church's Scholarship College Fund. This notable fund originated around 1971 and continues to award scholarships to hundreds of the church's college-age and adult members aspiring towards higher education or vocational programs. Likewise, Ms. Madison has been instrumental in supporting the acquisition and management of several of the church's low-income housing initiatives for the benefit of its members and surrounding communities across the U.S., and later she used this expertise to launch her own real estate development company based in Washington, D.C., Madison DeeLuxe.

In 1991 Mrs. Madison's role in the church was elevated when her now deceased husband, Dr. Bishop S.C. Madison, became the third Bishop of the United House of Prayer. In her new role as First Lady of the United House of Prayer (1991-2008), Mrs. Madison wanted to make an imprint in the lives and futures of the young people in their over 137 church congregations. It was in this spirit, that she founded a PreK-12 academic incentive program through the development of her own, St. Lady D Madison Scholastic Achievement Award Program. This long-standing program has influenced and shaped the lives of thousands of children who are now doctors, educators, engineers, judges, entrepreneurs, HVAC operators, carpenters, and countless other professions. Impressively, in light of her success with church and academic programs, she was invited to presidential inaugurations and other high-profile events under the Clinton administration and also received an award commendation from the District of Columbia's National Association of Secondary School Administrators.

Outside of her primary endeavors, Ms. Madison has aligned herself with the Queen Esther Chapter of the Eastern Star and the Golden Circle and the Mas. As a testament to her resounding success and influence on her community, she won a Bell Award through Bennett College and had a day named in her honor in Augusta, Georgia. Looking toward the future, Ms. Madison aims to continue enjoying her semi-retirement.
