HALLANDALE BEACH, FL, February 15, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Alexis Saborit has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Driven by a passion for conserving the environment, Mr. Saborit earned a certification in management from California State University, a bachelor's degree in project management from Florida International University and a master's degree in engineering from National Research University Moscow Power Engineering Institute. He subsequently worked for the department of public utilities with Mariel as a water treatment plant operations superintendent and water/wastewater plant manager between 1991 and 2000.
For the next four years, Mr. Saborit was active as a project manager, engineering construction inspector and plans examiner engineer for Mariel, during which time he performed daily field inspections, ensured compliance, and reviewed various records and reports. Over the years, he was additionally recruited by Mariel's department of public utilities as the director of operation and engineering. Between 2004 and 2013, Mr. Saborit prepared capital improvement project budgets and cost estimates for complex projects in addition to managed, supervised, coordinated and inspected the work of staff in regarding water distribution systems.
Drawing upon more than 20 years of management and utilities experience, Mr. Saborit has excelled as the water treatment plant operator for Hollywood Water Treatment Plant since 2015. In this position, he has performed operational, maintenance and repair duties of water equipment and facilities, collected water samples for testing, operated and maintained pump stations and recorded a wide range of readings, including flows, pressures and chemical usage.
In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Mr. Saborit is affiliated with the Florida Water and Pollution Control Operators Association, the ICC and the American Society of Civil Engineers. Outside of his primary responsibility, he found success as a volunteer instructor for the University of Havana and an environmental investigation researcher in Cuba. Even though his career has been filled with highlights, he is incredibly proud of receiving the National Award for Best Management and being involved in research in Cuba. In the near future, Mr. Saborit aims to advance his career and pursue his professional engineering credential.
