Having worked in the medical field for several years, Ms. Wilson pursued a career as a physician assistant (PA) due to her desire to manage her patients' care but also retain significant flexibility in career options. Since 2008, Ms. Wilson has found success as a PA in various medical specialties, including rheumatology, family medicine and emergency medicine. She recently joined the faculty at the PA program at Ashland University and is an assistant professor.
In her role as a PA, Ms. Wilson works in the emergency department and is responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis and management of patients, often in collaboration with the attending physician. Additionally, she serves as an assistant professor at Ashland University's PA program where she teaches patient assessment, which includes physical examination and patient interviewing, as well as clinical diagnostics and laboratory studies. Ms. Wilson considers the greatest achievement of her career thus far is the opportunity to witness how her care has positively impacted her patients' lives.
Ms. Wilson is a member of the American Association of Physician Assistants, the Ohio Association of Physician Assistants and the Society of Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants. She obtained her bachelor's degree from Ohio Northern University and then her master's degree in biomedical sciences from the University of Toledo. Looking forward, Ms. Wilson intends to pursue advancement in the role as a clinical professor, including research and publication.
