Terry D. McNew was elected to the board of directors of the American Home Furnishings Alliance in 2021.

Mr. McNew joined Klaussner Home Furnishings as its chief executive officer in 2019. Bringing with him decades of previous experience as a former executive in the boating industry, he oversees daily operations of the business and serves an instrumental role on the organization's board. He is a subject matter expert in many significant areas of the business, including product development, engineering, manufacturing, quality and process control and cashflow. A premier furniture company, Klaussner was founded in 1963 and is headquartered in North Carolina.
As a former boating professional of 32 years, Mr. McNew served as the senior vice president for Sea Rays Boat between 1988 and 2009. He subsequently maintained involvement as the president and chief executive officer for Correct Craft Boat from 2004 to 2006 as the first non-family member to be named to his position. During his two years with the organization, Mr. McNew was responsible for managing the construction of a brand-new facility and grew revenue by 50 percent. He was subsequently recruited by Brunswick Boat Group in 2009. As the executive vice president of the organization's recreational boat group, he oversaw the development and manufacture of various boats, which ranged from 19 to 100 feet in length. In 2012, Mr. McNew was named as the president and chief executive officer for MasterCraft Boat Company, an American manufacturer of luxury high-performance boats. During this period of his career, he successfully turned the company from near bankruptcy to over $700 million in revenue growth by 2019. He also led an IPO of MasterCraft Boat Company and took the company public, where it is still listed on NASDAQ.
In addition to his full-time contributions, Mr. McNew was active on the board of directors for West Marine, a boating and fishing retail chain. He also had the opportunity to teach as a visiting instructor at his alma mater, the University of Central Florida. Well regarded for his efforts in leading numerous nonprofit and civic initiatives, Mr. McNew served on the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as a member of the small business capital formation advisory committee. He has also been involved with Inspiration Ministries and Heifer International and as a sponsor for Compassion International, through which he and his wife support four children from Uganda, the Philippines, Haiti and Indonesia.
Mr. McNew is an alumnus of the University of Central Florida, where he received a Bachelor of Science in economics in 1986. He also completed several courses toward a master's degree. Mr. McNew has been certified as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt since 2004.
To support his professional endeavors, Mr. McNew is a board member of the National Marine Manufacturers Association. He was also recently elected to the board of directors of the American Home Furnishings Alliance in 2021. Mr. McNew was honored to be inducted into the University of Central Florida's College of Business Hall of Fame in 2018. The university also recognized him with a Professional Achievement Award in 2015. Furthermore, Mr. McNew garnered recognition with a Best Manufacturer in North American Award in 2016 from Industry Week Magazine during his career with MasterCraft Boat Company.
