As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

An accomplished Clinical Supervisor and Substance Abuse Counselor, Mr. Whitfield excels today as a Recovery Coach for Ria Health, an online alcohol addiction program located in San Francisco, California. During an earlier stage of his career, Mr. Whitfield gained valuable expertise in crisis intervention, conflict resolution and volunteer management in a variety of roles. To wit, he served as a Family Support intern for Jacob's Well, a Substance Abuse Counselor for Rock Valley Community Programs, Beloit Youth Place/Rock Valley Community Program Inc. and St. Croix Correctional Center and as a Battalion Mail Clerk/Administrative Specialist with the Wisconsin Army National Guard.
