After earning a degree in music education from the University of Texas in 2007, Ms. Silvermintz began her career as a band director at Hondo High School for one year, prior to moving to St. Louis to teach at Lindbergh High School, where she remains to this day. In addition to teaching beginning clarinets in the sixth grade band, she directs the Freshman Band and assists with their Concert Band, which consists of 10th through 12th grade students. Additionally, she is the director of the pit orchestra for all of their musicals and assists with the Lindbergh Spirit of St. Louis Marching Band. Although her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. Silvermintz is most proud of the students whose lives she has affected.
