Ms. Stolar-Peterson started her career working with children in 1998. Starting in 2003, Ms. Stolar-Peterson worked in child welfare for almost 12 years as an investigator, forensic interviewer, and foster/adoptions social worker. In 2009, she was licensed and started her private practice part time and eventually went to full time. Ms. Stolar-Peterson has worked as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and expert witness for Stolar Consultation Inc. since 2015. In 2015, she also founded therapistcourtprep.com. where she helps therapists prepare and train for court matters. She is also currently the director of Kids Court and Counseling Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, founded in 2014 that helps prepare children to testify in court that are either witnesses, victims or are in foster care.
In her present role, Ms. Stolar-Peterson provides therapy, consultations, expert witness cases and reviews as well as teaching new social workers how to investigate child abuse and interview children. As part of her dedication to her field, Ms. Stolar-Peterson is a member of the American Board of Clinical Social Work.
Ms. Stolar-Peterson is currently focused on working as a child abuse expert and testifying around the country on child abuse cases. Ms. Stolar-Peterson donates her time to Kids Court and Counseling Center, offering free trauma reduction, and free counseling through grants to help children feel more confident and comfortable in court.
