She specializes in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and frequently performs a broad range of procedures such as the hysteroscopic removal of fibroids and polyps or the laparoscopic resection of endometriosis. Dr. Farag also regularly treats patients for abnormal uterine bleeding, ovarian cysts, pelvic pain and pelvic floor dysfunction.
In addition to her responsibilities at HSMF Women's Care, Dr. Farag maintains her affiliation with North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center, both of which are part of the Northwell Health system. Prior to beginning her career, she completed a fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at Cleveland Clinic Florida and residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at New York City's Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Farag had previously earned a Bachelor of Science in bioengineering and biomedical engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and a Doctor of Medicine from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine.
In 2018, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists honored Dr. Farag with the Jerome J. Hoffman Award, which celebrates the most impressive research paper written by a medical resident or fellow of the aforementioned organization. She was also notably selected as the chief administrative resident during her residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
