RICHMOND HILL, GA, March 15, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- James Hula Jr, MD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Hula currently serves as a Hospitalist Physician at Southeast Georgia Health System in the role of Primary Care Provider for adults who are admitted to the hospital. He received his Baccalaureate Degree from Middle Tennessee State University and obtained his Medical Degree from East Tennessee State University's James Quillen College of Medicine. He completed residency training in Family Medicine at Dwight David Eisenhower Army Medical Center and is Board Certified through the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Hula also currently serves as a (clinical) assistant professor through the Department of Medicine and the Department of Family Medicine through the Medical College of Georgia/ Augusta University (Southeast Campus) in the community based faculty preceptor program.

Dr. Hula has always felt passionate about people and life. In his youth he was unsure what professional role he would be able to accomplish in the community. Into his young adulthood Dr. Hula understood the meaning of hard work and discipline from being raised on a farm in middle Tennessee and working in construction with his family. He acknowledges that he has been blessed with people who have given him significant mentorship and guidance along the journey of life who challenged him to be better than he thought his personal limits were. After the September 11, 2001 attacks, Dr. Hula joined the U.S. Army and found renewed purpose and direction. He considers it a great honor to be able to serve in the military. Providing medical care to America's warriors and their family members has been among the most valued moments of his career. Dr. Hula has practiced full scope family medicine to include medical care for adults, pediatrics, elderly, pain management (procedural and medicinal), sports medicine, inpatient/hospital medicine to include critically ill, and also has even been fortunate to have delivered many beautiful babies working in low risk/non-surgical obstetrics. It is noted that throughout his career, Dr. Hula has remained an active teacher and has served as clinical preceptor for medical students, residents, nurse practitioner students, physician assistant students, and honored to work with training special forces medics.

Dr. Hula universally strives to practice medicine in such a way that regardless of who the individual he actually is taking care of, he focuses on caring for him or her as if he is taking care of his own most dearly loved one. He also sees his role of physician as a scientist practitioner; using the principles of science and medicine focused on the continued attempt to improve illness or disease for people in a purposeful manner. He sees his role also significantly involving teaching and education for patients and medical staff, placing high value on these modalities as just as important as compared to any medicine(s) or procedure(s) prescribed especially in regards to discussions which must take place with issues as it pertains to one's health and wellness.

Dr. Hula is the recipient of The David Hooker Soldier Physician Award (2010), Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award (2010) and Resident Teacher Award (2013). He was recognized as Preceptor of the Year (2013-2014) Interservice Physician Assistant Program (IPAP) at Winn Army Hospital (clinical site), Graduate School Academy of Health Sciences, Ft Sam Houston, TX. Dr. Hula is honored to be listed as one of America's Top Family Doctors by Consumers' Research Council of America (2016 and 2017). Dr. Hula was also recognized in The Brunswick News (Oct. 10, 2020) as frontline hero regarding COVID hospital inpatient treatment and care.
