BAKERSFIELD, CA, March 15, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nanette Yabiku has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A seasoned, passionate and resourceful leader with years of expertise in professional development, Ms. Yabiku began her career of more than 35 years in education as a teacher with Bakersfield City School District at John C. Fremont Elementary School, where she taught kindergarten, second and third grade. Subsequently, she gained valuable expertise in the field as a teacher for Ramon Garza Elementary School. Ms. Yabiku currently excels with Dr. Juliet Thorner Elementary School.

In her work as an academic coach with Dr. Juliet Thorner Elementary School, Ms. Yabiku coaches teachers, develops curriculum, serves as a special education facilitator working with special education teachers and students, and conducts Team for Student Success meetings with parents and school professionals to determine how to meet the needs of our neediest students. Throughout her career, she has earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and teaching certification from Sonoma State University and a master's degree, Administrative Services Credential Certificate of Eligibility, and Reading and Literacy Authorization from Point Loma Nazarene University, as well as a certification in coaching and DISC through the John Maxwell Team and a certification in Cognitive Coaching through Cognitive Coaching Seminars Foundation.

Although her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. Yabiku is most proud of working with her team to create a program in the school's system that allows for the full inclusion of special needs children. The program has been successfully adopted and integrated into the school's structure, making special needs students happier, as they are now nearly indistinguishable from other students even while their needs are being met within their general education classroom.

Driven to remain aware of changes in the field, Ms. Yabiku contributes to others as an executive director of the John Maxwell Team. For her professional excellence, she was presented with awards for leadership and accountability through Bakersfield City School District, and received a volunteer award through the American Heart Association. In the coming years, Ms. Yabiku aims to retire and establish a consulting business that allows her to pass on her knowledge in education, leadership and organizational coaching.
