Drawing on more than 25 years of medical experience, Dr Ford currently excels as the Medical Director of Southside Behavioral Health and provides clinical psychiatric services at Western Tidewater Community Service Board. She has professional interests in areas of ADHD, anxiety, and trauma, especially focusing on resilience.

After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Arizona, Dr. Ford went on to earn her Doctor of Medicine from the same University. She subsequently completed a Triple Board Residency Program in Pediatrics, Adult Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry through the University of Utah.

In addition to her administrative and clinical responsibilities, Dr. Ford provides supervision for Nurse Practitioners. She has taught Physician Assistant Students, Psychiatric Residents and Fellows, as well as medical students.

Dr. Ford attributes her success to her passion for learning, medicine and caring for people as well as having the support of her family and friends. She is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and active in the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
