Mr. Coralic, of Coralic Architecture in Saint Louis, founded his firm in 2013. Working alongside a small team of experts in their field to achieve common goals, they specialize in commercial design, quick service restaurants, coffee shops, and other hospitality and retail spaces, as well as the rehabilitation of existing shopping centers, educational facilities, historic buildings, and residential dwellings. In his capacity as the owner of the company, Mr. Coralic excels at overcoming various design challenges and bringing concepts into reality.
Mr. Coralic previously worked as a project coordinator for Treanor Architects from 2007 to 2008. He subsequently became a project architect for Zwick & Gandt Architecture Inc., where he spent the next five years garnering expertise until 2013. Over the years, Mr. Coralic has developed fruitful professional relationships with such organizations as the Dutch Bros, with whom he hopes to continue doing work in the future.
Among his career highlights, Mr. Coralic is particularly proud to have worked on the Affton Plaza redevelopment project, where he and his team revitalized and reconstructed an old shopping center. Three years later, the entire complex was fully leased to tenants. Additionally, Mr. Coralic has also become more engaged with climate codes for energy efficiency, with the hopes of being able to provide buildings that are more efficient in the future.
Born in Bosnia, Mr. Coralic and his family escaped to Germany for nearly fours years before making their way to the U.S. Just 15 years old at the time, they settled in Saint Louis, where he began high school. His father enjoyed a 35-year career as a construction manager and his brother followed his lead. Mr. Coralic enjoyed construction, but preferred drawing more, which led him to architecture. By the time Mr. Coralic was a senior, he knew that he wanted to pursue it as a career.
Mr. Coralic went on to receive an Associate of Applied Science in architectural sciences and technology at Saint Louis Community College in 2003, during which time he completed an internship at Hampton Architecture Limited in 2002. He subsequently attained a Bachelor of Technology in architectural technology, summa cum laude, at Washington University in Saint Louis in 2007. Well qualified in his field, Mr. Coralic is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and licensed in the states of Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, Arkansas and Iowa, among others.
Civically engaged, Mr. Coralic volunteers his time with his local Islamic center, where he helps with educational, architectural needs and design. He also donates to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital. To remain aware of developments in his field, Mr. Coralic is an active member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. In 2021, he was presented with an award from the Saint Louis Business Journal, which recognized his achievements as a local architect.
