Shannon Boettjer intends to continue studying technology and make a difference in policy and law through the use and understanding of emerging technology.
PORT WASHINGTON, NY, March 22, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Shannon Boettjer has been included in Marquis Who's Who. After working in the field of education as a teacher for Sierra Vista Junior High School and as department chair and teacher for Sunrise Middle School, Ms. Boettjer retrained and began working in the legal industry. In 2001, she started as a summer associate law clerk for Sedgwick LLP and as a student legal specialist for the Special Litigation Division of the New York City Law Department. Over the years, she also gained valuable expertise in the field as an associate with Sedgwick LLP, counsel for O'Melveny & Myers LLP and as senior counsel for Clyde & Co US LLP. Drawing on her considerable knowledge, she excels today as partner of Jaspan Schlesinger LLP.
Throughout her career, Ms. Boettjer has studied at United World College South East Asia and Taipei American School in Taiwan. Additionally, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in diplomacy and world affairs with a minor in English and comparative literary studies and a Master of Arts in teaching history from Occidental College and a Doctor of Jurisprudence with honors from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. In order to remain aware of ongoing changes in the field, she aligns herself with the New York State, Nassau County and American Bar Associations, as well as the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance.
In 2014, Ms. Boettjer was granted the designation Certified Litigation Management Professional (CLMP) by CLM. Since achieving that status, she became a certified trained AAA commercial arbitrator and active legal columnist. A lifelong learner, Ms. Boettjer has completed the course Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy through the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Blockchain for Business: 2020, and is currently completing additional executive coursework related to AI, FinTech, and data science for lawyers.
Outside of her work, Ms. Boettjer has given back to her community as a Cub Scout den leader and cub master for the Boy Scouts of America. In addition to being selected to be the national oralist and executive board member of the Moot Court Honor Society, she became a legal writing teaching assistant during her years in law school. For her professional accomplishments, she won a Jacob Burns Medal of Honor for Outstanding Scholastic Achievement through the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. Although her career has been filled with highlights, she is most proud of responding well to technological advancements as demanded by her profession.
