Penny Zimring Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Gifted and Talented Education

Ms. Zimring channels years of expertise into her work with the Maryland Educators of Gifted Students



Ms. Zimring is incredibly proud of bringing an awareness of the needs of students with gifts and talents to many educators regionally, in the state of Maryland and internationally.

    ELLICOTT CITY, MD, March 22, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Penny Zimring has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A seasoned educator, Ms. Zimring excels today as the president of the Maryland Educators of Gifted Students. Previously, she gained valuable expertise in the field as an adjunct professor of gifted and talented education at the Johns Hopkins University and as an instructional facilitator for the Gifted and Talented Program at Howard County Public Schools. In order to remain aware of changes in the field, Ms. Zimring is affiliated with Delta Kappa Gamma, Phi Delta Kappa, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development and the National Association for Gifted Children.

With expertise in her field, Ms. Zimring earned a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania as well as a Master of Science in gifted education and a graduate degree and certificate in administration and supervision from the Johns Hopkins University. For her outstanding work in the field, she has been honored on several occasions, having been presented with the Maryland Senate Official Citation through the Maryland State Advisory Council for Gifted and Talented Education in 2006.

Even though her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. Zimring is incredibly proud of bringing an awareness of the needs of students with gifts and talents to many educators regionally, in the state of Maryland and internationally. Another standout opportunity was her leadership role of the program in the Howard County Maryland Public School District, where she led a staff of over 100 teachers, which represented a significant district-wide commitment to gifted and talented education. Looking toward the future, Ms. Zimring aims to keep the Maryland Educators of Gifted Students as a welcoming and vibrant organization.
