With over 30 years of experience in the field of property management to his credit, Mr. Fong has served as the manager and general partner of Fong and Associates. His accomplishments in this capacity have been lauded with several awards, including being recognized as the Certified Property Manager of the Year by the Las Vegas chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management in 2002, and the Business Person of the Year by the Las Vegas Asian Chamber of Commerce in 2001.
Mr. Fong's story began at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas, where he received a Bachelor of Science in business administration with high distinction. There, he was inducted into the honor societies of Phi Kappa Phi and Psi Chi. Concurrent with his undergraduate studies, he completed coursework as a business major at the University of Hawaii as part of the National Student Exchange Program. Subsequently, Mr. Fong earned a Master of Business Administration from San Francisco State University. Later, he proceeded to attend the Institute of Real Estate Management, where he obtained the designation of a Certified Property Manager (CPM).
After serving Bank of America for over a decade as an assistant vice president and trust real estate officer, as well as teaching finance and real estate as an adjunct instructor at the University of Nevada – Las Vegas, Mr. Fong went into his family commercial real estate business. His successful management of Fong and Associates, starting in 1993, was strongly recognized by his peers. He became the 2000-2001 club president of the Las Vegas West Rotary Club. Likewise active with the Las Vegas chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management, Mr. Fong served as the chapter president in 2004. Furthermore, he lent his expertise authoring real estate articles in the Money Manager Previews Journal, Senior Life Magazine, and the Journal of Property Management between 1989 and 2004.
In accounting for his success, Mr. Fong primarily credits his Christian faith, which encourages him to be grateful and motivates him to share his experiences to assist others in their own lives and careers. He considers his greatest accomplishment to be the enduring success of his family business, as well as the support of his partners. Looking toward the future, Mr. Fong has now shifted to a part time role so he can focus on spending more time with his family.
