As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Well regarded as a mental health expert, Dr. Kola serves as the owner and chief executive officer of Buoyant Family Services Counseling and Consulting Inc. Founded in 2016 in Omaha, Nebraska, her team provides mental health and substance abuse therapy and behavioral services for children, adults and families. Working alongside a team of behavioral health providers, visitation specialists and others in the field, Dr. Kola treats patients suffering from a range of issues, from trauma and domestic violence to sex trafficking and post-traumatic stress syndrome. She also specializes in treating those suffering from substance abuse. In addition to in-house counseling, Dr. Kola also offers supervised visitation through her agency.

Prior to her commitments as an entrepreneur, Dr. Kola spent two years as a clinical manager for the Center for Holistic Development Inc., beginning in 2015. She also worked as a behavioral health provider for Alegent Health between 2005 and 2014 and with Williams Counseling P from 2010 until 2014. As an extension of her work, Dr. Kola has presented at numerous speaking engagements on the topics of domestic violence, sex trafficking, gender disparities and other issues related to mental health. She notably lectured at the Health Disparities Conference at Teaches College at Columbia University in New York. She also attended the annual global Leadership Africa Summit, a leading global conference comprised of young professional African leaders, entrepreneurs and those that cherish diversity, in 2019, where she received an award.

To improve upon her own expertise in trauma, domestic violence and forgiveness, Dr. Kola has participated in various international field experiences in Peru and Rwanda. Among her research efforts, she has extensively studied the forgiveness process in Kigali, Rwanda, following the 1994 genocide against the Tutsis during the Rwandan Civil War. Dr. Kola also continues to study and address the health disparities affecting the refugee and immigrant population here in the U.S.

Dr. Kola is currently writing her first book, which will be titled "We All Got Issues, And It Is Okay." The book will explore the many common mental health issues that people face. Dr. Kola also aspires to run for office in Omaha, which will better enable her to support residents by serving as a voice on behalf of refugees, immigrants and people of color.

Highly educated, Dr. Kola holds a Bachelor of Science in business economics from Madurai Kamaraj University in India. She also holds a Master of Science in mental health clinical counseling from Bellevue University and a Doctor of Philosophy in international psychology with a concentration in trauma from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Kola is a licensed individual mental health practitioner, holds several related certifications, and is fluent in both English and Swahili.

Highlighting her achievements, Dr. Kola was featured in a 2018 edition of the Omaha World Herald. She attributes much of her professional success to her stepfather for serving as an instrumental role model during her early development.
