Ms. De Los Santos volunteers her time to Pandemic Partners, which she joined during the surge of Covid-19 patients at the height of the Delta variant.

With over a decade of experience in the field of medical coding to her credit, Ms. De Los Santos presently serves as a coding quality education auditor for the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Her story began at South Plains College, where she completed coursework in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, as well as radiology. Notably, due to her demonstrated academic excellence while studying between 2003 and 2005, Ms. De Los Santos was recognized with inclusion on the dean's list.
Despite previously bearing no knowledge of coding, Ms. De Los Santos developed a great passion for the field during the course of her education. Well qualified in the profession, she is most proud to have attained certification as a professional coder, a professional medical auditor and a risk adjustment coder. Additionally, Ms. De Los Santos has drawn much gratification from the opportunities she has been afforded to educate other health providers.
Prior to her role as a coding quality education auditor for the Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Ms. De Los Santos served as a medical coder for Insight Global and Optum. She also found success within the speech and audiology department of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center as a coding and reimbursement specialist. Outside of her primary career endeavors, Ms. De Los Santos volunteers her time to Pandemic Partners, which she joined during the surge of Covid-19 patients at the height of the Delta variant.
In accounting for her success, Ms. De Los Santos primarily attributes her dedication to and passion for educating herself. She also credits her mentors and colleagues for providing the necessary support to advance within her career. To that end, Ms. De Los Santos plans to pursue a degree in healthcare information management within the next five years, while continuing to rise within the ranks of the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
