JUDITH GAP, MT, April 11, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Seeta Shah Roath has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Seeta Shah Roath currently serves as a substitute multi-subject teacher at Judith Gap Schools in Montana, she is also an executive member of the University of Guyana Broadcasting Trust, a member of the board of trustees of the Texila American University, and currently holds the position of Chair of that Trust. Additionally, she is a graduate thesis supervisor at the faculty of education and humanities of the University of Guyana and teaches graduate students in leadership communication and strategic communication at the Center for Communication Studies of the same institution. Further, Dr. Shah Roath is a lecturer of film studies and research at the Institute of Creative Arts, School of Theatre Arts and Drama in Guyana since 2013.

A technical adviser and implementation coordinator for the campus radio station design and installation at the University of Guyana since 2019, Seeta continues to be a part of the continuous improvement of that radio station. Being the head of the Multimedia Unit at Guyana Learning Channel Trust from 2010 to 2018 and the executive director of Guyana Learning Channel Trust from 2013 to 2019, she is still awed at the continuous high achievement of countless students who started their foundational academic learning experiences as children of the learning channel since 2011.

After earning a diploma in public communications from the University of Guyana in 1986, Seeta began a career in media studies at her alma mater as Media Producer performing the duties of multimedia coordinator for all Social Sciences Faculty - radio, newspaper, and stage programs - mentoring students in their research projects, and teaching multimedia productions for the Development Support Communication course for the communications diploma programme. She helped to establish the bachelor's degree in public communications, as part of a larger team, at the University of Guyana, then left the University as a fulltime staff to become the Head of the National Development Support Communications System of Guyana at the Guyana Public Communications Agency, which was set up with assistance from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

As a part-time student, Seeta obtained a bachelor's degree in public communications from the University of Guyana in 1993, while stationed in the middle of the South American jungle, working as the Public Communications Coordinator for the Omai Gold Mines Limited – a subsidiary of the Canadian Mining Company CAMBIOR. Mentoring multimedia and community communications practitioners in its largest gold mines in Guyana and Suriname for CAMBIOR, she earned a master's degree in education from the University of Phoenix and a certificate in American Indian education from the University of Montana while conducting doctoral field research at the Tribal Colleges of the Fort Peck and Rocky Boy Reservations in Montana.

Through it all from 1998 to 2009, she worked part time as a writer for the International Projects of the Washington Times, writing eight to 16 pages reports from Panama, Jamaica, Dominica, Trinidad and Tobago, Egypt, Sweden, and other countries around the world. Shah Roath eventually graduated with a Doctor of Education in educational leadership, curriculum, and instruction in 2009. Her research focus was her lifelong passion – using technology and multimedia to reach students at risk of succeeding.

This was the drive that underlined her proposal for an Educational Satellite Television network to reach all regions of Guyana – The Guyana Learning Channel. The Guyana government embraced the proposal within its Ministry of Education in 2010 thereby laying the groundwork for its establishment. Setting up the Guyana Learning Channel Trust as the head of the multimedia unit of the National Centre for Educational Resource Development was realizing her lifelong goals. "Reaching diverse students of all ages, through the audio-visual medium, with the best teachers and appropriate curriculum guides, broadcast from its master site in Kingston. Designing and building the studios, up-linking master site, and remote sites with my engineers, was a pleasure and spending time in the remote communities of Guyana, a bonus." Dr Shah Roath reiterated.

Using her experience on the Fort Peck and Rocky Boy Reservations of Montana, her extensive community outreach programs in the riverain communities of Guyana, and the rural communities of Suriname, Dr. Shah Roath became a remote community communications consultant for Sandspring Resources Ltd. A mining company out of Colorado, USA, alongside her teaching, mentoring, and multimedia productions.

Her community relations experience started even beyond mining sites and surrounding communities, she was the public relations officer for the Guyana-Suriname Friendship Society from 1988 to 1996, working alongside Professor Loncke and Vincent Alexander from the University of Guyana and Murwin Sabajo of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Suriname. She was also with Dr. Yesu Persaud and team from the beginning of starting the Guyana Commemoration Trust and countless Indo-Guyanese cultural initiatives.

Dr. Shah Roath is also a noted author and has written extensively, including 'The Return of Latchmini', 'Wanderlust: A Collection of Short Stories - Guyana to Montana, 1983-2021', "Under the Calabash Tree" and "Performance Poetry: Guyana, Now and Then," alongside television, film and radio programs and articles for major publications in the US.

Dr. Seeta Shah Roath has received many accolades throughout her career, including being honored as the Best Passing First Year Student in the Diploma in Science at the Government Technical Institute of Guyana. She was also presented with a group Medal of Service National Award - for "Sustained and Outstanding Contribution to the Cultural Mosaic of Guyana" for the Multicultural Performing Arts Programming of Nrityageet, Nadira and Indranie Shah Dance Troupe and the President's Award of Excellence in Public Relations from the Guyana Manufacturing & Services Association. She also received the Dr. Victor Forsythe Award for the Best Graduating Student for the Diploma in Communication at the University of Guyana,1986.

Dr. Shah Roath holds many impressive professional certifications, including certifications in Learning Assessments, Early Childhood Education, and Online Instructional Design and Delivery from the International Institute for Educational Planning, Creative Writing, Developmental Psychology, and Caribbean Studies from The University of Guyana Extra Mural Studies, and certification in Development Support Communication from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
