WESTWOOD, NJ, April 14, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Roy G. Jones has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Author and sculptor Roy G. Jones was born and brought up in a small Welsh coal-mining village where he worked in the local coal mine for two years after which he joined the Royal Navy for seven years. He served on two destroyers in Home/Mediterranean waters. He then served on a frigate based in Hong Kong at the tail end of the hostilities in Korea but not before two North Korean Migs fired rockets at his ship when it was on one of its patrols off the coast of South Korea. The rockets missed by 100 yards or so but it was a night to remember -- and it was written up in the London Times.
Mr. Jones then worked in London for the Otis Elevator company and polished the skills that he had learned in the Navy to the point where he was sent to the Caribbean. Based in Puerto Rico, he visited every island there that had at least one elevator on it. He also worked for a year in Venezuela and for two years in Ecuador.
Seeking bigger challenges, he moved to New York City and worked for three small companies before establishing his own company that specialized in control modifications to elevators from all manufacturers.
Mr. Jones is now retired and lives with his wife, Tere, in Northeast New Jersey.
Roy G. Jones writes under the name of Roy Garde. He has written 5 novels, 23 novellas and over 120 short stories. Synopses of all of them can be read at roygarde.net and the novels are available on Amazon. His short stories can be read directly at http://stories.roygarde.net/. He believes that his real strength lies in writing novellas and he has 23 of them waiting to be published.
