Drawing on over a decade of expertise in the academic field, Dr. Allen specializes in elementary literacy and consulting. Prior to embarking on her professional journey, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at Emory University in 2011 and a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education and English Speakers of Other Languages from Georgia State University in 2013. She continued her academic efforts at Mercer University, earning an Education Specialist degree in Reading in 2015, and a Doctor of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Georgia State University in 2021. As a commitment to her field, Dr. Allen was formerly active as a classroom teacher, instructional support specialist, multi-tiered systems of support specialist, and as a district literacy ambassador and a district science ambassador for DeKalb County School District and Atlanta Public Schools. Additionally, Dr. Allen has served as an active member with a local parent-teacher association, the National Education Association, and the Kappa Delta Pi honor society.
After nearly a decade of serving as an elementary school teacher and an early intervention program teacher for the public school system, Dr. Allen has transitioned from teaching in 2019 to serve as the owner and chief consultant of her private firm, CLETIS Education Consulting. In this capacity, she specializes in curriculum design, literacy integration, and instructional support. Additionally, she is responsible for providing teachers with individual assistance in the areas of literacy curriculum development and professional learning facilitation, which cultivates equity in elementary education and instructional coaching. In her career related endeavors, Dr. Allen offers instructional coaching for parents seeking added support to help their children with literacy or mathematics strategies at home, and works with public, private and charter schools, as well as nonprofit educational organizations.
Adjacent to her main responsibilities in the field, Dr. Allen serves as a content and instructional specialist for Amplify Education Inc., a curriculum and an assessment company founded in 2012, in Brooklyn, New York. Since 2019, she has also been affiliated with Skyview High School as a governing board member. On a local level, Dr. Allen has contributed to the Caucus of Emory Black Alumni as a vice president of programming and as an educational and cultural chair from 2018 to 2020.

Looking toward the future, Dr. Allen aspires to expand the scope of her involvement and support for local school districts, and hopes to contribute through CLETIS Education Consulting to the curriculum development writing aspect of the field.
