SHICKLEY, NE, April 26, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Stanley W. Johnson has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Now retired, Mr. Johnson worked throughout his career as a band director and high school teacher. He obtained a bachelor's degree in music performance and education from Hastings College in Nebraska as well as a master's degree in instrumental music education from the University of Northern Colorado. Moreover, Mr. Johnson earned a lifetime teaching certificate.
An expert in instrumental music, Mr. Johnson was distinguished among the 50 Band Directors in the United States Who Made a Difference and as the Best Band Director in the State by the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association. Likewise, he garnered the distinction of Outstanding Music Educator by the National Association for Music Education several times. Passionate about music, Mr. Johnson has been involved with the Nebraska Music Education Association and has worked as a mentor for the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association.
After his retirement in 2009, Mr. Johnson served as a part-time instructor in the University of Nebraska Omaha's music department until 2020. In that role, he observed teachers in classes and provided feedback and encouragement to them. He has been active as a church organist for the Zion Lutheran Church and United Church of Christ Congregational Church and since 2001, he has been a staff member for the Nebraska Ambassador of Music. Mr. Johnson attributes his success to his love for his students and helping them appreciate music in their lives. Amongst his many accomplishments, he is most proud of the work he has done in music education with both teachers and students. His school bands have performed in numerous places and he has inspired countless people to see the value in music education.
