While coming of age, Ms. Dworjan excelled in school subjects, but found herself especially challenged by music. This intrigued her, and led to her discovering a deep passion for the subject of music education. She pursued her academic efforts at the College of Saint Rose and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education in 2019. Upon graduating, Ms. Dworjan accepted a role as a music educator for the Bright Choice Charter School for Girls, a role in which she has flourished ever since.
In her present role, Ms. Dworjan teaches kindergarten to fifth grade students various instruments, including the drums, xylophone, guitar and recorder. Aside from music education, her area of expertise resides in playing the flute. In addition to teaching, Ms. Dworjan participates as the Secretary of the executive board for the American Orff-Schulwerk Association-Berkshire Hudson Valley chapter. A respected voice in her field, she has been invited to present at the NYSSMA Conference and has contributed articles to Flute View Magazine.
As a testament to her expertise, Ms. Dworjan has earned several awards. To wit, she received a performance-based scholarship from the Orange County Music Educators Association, in addition to an Academic Achievement Award and the St. Rose of Lima Award from the College of Saint Rose. She attributes much of her success to her outstanding mentors and peers. Looking toward the future, Ms. Dworjan intends to deepen her involvement in the community and seek opportunities to sing and play music in the area. Moreover, she plans to continue her education and attain a master's degree.
