Since 2020, Ms. Reece has been a Human Resources Employee Development Manager for the Federal Bureau of Prisons of the Department of Justice.

An expert in staff and employee development, Ms. Reece has devoted her career to improving the lives and education of incarcerated individuals and also staff who work in the prison setting. To prepare for her career, she earned a Bachelor of Science from Montana State University-Northern in 1998, where she graduated Cum Laude with Departmental Distinction and obtained a Master of Education and Educational Counseling from Azusa Pacific University in 2005 where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Ms. Reece also attained certifications as a reading specialist and in multiple subjects for teaching.
Though she initially aspired to become a physician, Ms. Reece began her professional journey as an elementary educator, after which she served as a school guidance counselor and adjunct college professor. Following this period, she was promoted to become a senior counselor, a role she held for two years prior to her tenure as a teacher on behalf of inmates.
Since 2020, Ms. Reece has been a Human Resources Employee Development Manager for the Federal Bureau of Prisons of the Department of Justice. In this capacity, she supervises staff training for prison system personnel and works in employee development and career enhancement. She also collaborates with outside agencies to help train personnel, drawing from her own experience in helping inmates obtain their general education degrees and complete college courses. Ms. Reece also coordinates trainings for correctional services, unit team, food services, psychology services, drug residential treatment programs, facilities, and health services. In accounting for her success, she credits her passion and dedication in making a positive difference in the lives of the incarcerated as well as the lives of the staff she works with.
Ms. Reece volunteers her expertise by attending community relations board mectings regarding the prison system, working with the community, mayor and the local United States Army depot. She also participates in food drives, backpack drives and reading sessions with students. In recognition of her work, she has been nominated as the Supervisor of the Year in 2022 and as the Rookie of the Year in 2012. Ms. Reece has also been honored with 20 different Special Act Awards over the course of her career including multiple outstanding ratings.
Looking toward the future, Ms. Reece intends to continue advancing her career in the prison system, through which she hopes to become an Associate Warden. Then aspires to become a Warden in her own right, or serve as Director for the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
