As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Due to a love of science, her volunteer work at hospitals during her high school years, and her desire to pursue a career in service to others, Dr. Patel earned a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of South Carolina in 2008 and soon became a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist. Upon her graduation, she gained valuable expertise as a pharmacy practice resident and critical care pharmacy resident at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where she also worked as a patient care pharmacist.

Backed by her professional expertise, Dr. Patel currently excels as an advanced practice clinical pharmacist in neurology/critical care at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Since obtaining the role in 2011, she closely works with the neuro-critical care team to evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of medications to optimize patient care. She also monitors patients admitted to the intermediate ICU, as well as on the general floor. In order to remain aware of ongoing changes in the field, she aligns herself with the Neurocritical Care Society, the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.

Although her career has been filled with standout moments, Dr. Patel is incredibly proud of working with the same institution for the last ten years. Her length of service has allowed her to build a rapport with providers and nurses. Additionally, she is now able to provide guidance to students and residents. In the coming years, Dr. Patel aims to be more involved in research and contribute to publications, liaise more with local and national memberships and collaborate with other individuals in the field.
