Upon graduating from high school, Ms. Cook distinguished herself through her work in a nursing home, where she remained active for three years. She subsequently completed two years of coursework at Anne Arundel Community College before earning a degree from the Maryland General School of Nursing in 1987. Over the years, Ms. Cook gained more than a decade of professional expertise in a local hospital, through which she worked in numerous departments. During this time, she cared for a friend living with multiple sclerosis and both her parents which inspired her to specialize in home care for the rest of her professional journey.
Between 2002 and 2018, Ms. Cook joined Griswold Home Care of Anne Arundel County as a senior care coordinator. Supported by her considerable experience, she presently excels as the director of Griswold Home Care. In her executive role, she sends caregivers to clients' homes to provide different types of services, such as personal care, bathing, grooming, light housekeeping, medication reminders and transportation. Outside of her work, Ms. Cook dedicates herself to those less fortunate by donating to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
Ms. Cook aligns herself with the Greater Severna Park and Arnold Chamber of Commerce and the Anne Arundel County Senior Provider Group in her spare time. In light of her outstanding body of work, she has received several citations through the Senate of Maryland, the Maryland House of Delegates and the County Council of Anne Arundel County, a Citizenship Award for Giving CPR through the county, an Executive Citation from the county executive, and the Best of Anne Arundel County Award. Although her career has been filled with highlights, she is most proud to have established her own business. Looking toward the future, Ms. Cook intends to continue upholding Griswold Home Care's sterling reputation.
