As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

An expert in reporting on social issues, Mr. McDonald has distinguished himself as a journalist for more than 25 years. To prepare for his career, he earned a Bachelor's of Science from Troy State University in 1995. Since graduating, has written content for a weekly newspaper, daily website and a quarterly magazine serving the LGBT communities in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. Notably, Mr. McDonald serves as part of an award-winning team of reporters who have worked diligently to transform a local media outlet from a small bar guide into a credible and trusted daily news source.

Likewise adept in administration for websites and social media, Mr. McDonald has worked with numerous local news outlets, including the Panama City News Herald, the Dothan Eagle, the Troy Messenger and South Florida Gay News. He also maintained involvement as an entertainment contributor for Freedom Communications Florida for five years. As part of his dedication to his field, Mr. McDonald also served on the board of the Florida chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists in 2017.

Having long felt an affinity for expressing himself through words, Mr. McDonald was recognized for his commitment to journalism multiple times throughout his career.
