After earning an Associate of Arts, a Bachelor of Science in business and computer information systems, and a Master of Science in computer information systems from the University of Phoenix, Dr. Burk began his career as operations manager for the Organic Meat Company. Years later, he became the technical manager for Birko Corporation. In this capacity, Dr. Burk evaluated customer operations with regard to sanitation and food safety practices, managed all resources available and reviewed sanitation programs that had already been implemented.
Supported by his professional expertise, Dr. Burk presently excels as the director of technical services for Fayette Industrial Sanitation. An expert in his field, he holds a Master of Business Administration in human resource management from the American InterContinental University, a Doctor of Management in organizational leadership from the University of Phoenix and a Master of Science in environmental safety and health from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Additionally, Dr. Burk has earned several certifications from the OSHA Safety Training Institute, AIB International, the National Restaurant Association and the Army Veterinary Services.
Driven to remain aware of changes in the field, Dr. Burk aligns himself with the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. In light of his previous experience as a food inspection specialist with the U.S. Army between 1992 and 2003, he was named as the Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year through Pacific Medical Command. In the coming years, Dr. Burk aims to retire and consult on behalf of various organizations.
