An accomplished performer and director, Mr. Ramagos has distinguished himself in the entertainment industry. His love for the arts started in high school when he decided to start a drama club. This required recruiting a teacher sponsor, choosing and casting shows, directing productions, building sets, and doing lighting for each production. It proved to be a creative outlet for many students interested in performing arts and was very successful.
At the beginning of his career, Shawn worked at Walt Disney World in Florida where he was a lighting and pyrotechnician for multiple parks and various departments including shows and parades. He was a lead for the grand opening of Disney's Animal Kingdom where he also helped to open a brand-new theatrical production, Journey into Jungle Book. While at Disney he was instrumental with the planning and implementation of the 25th Anniversary Celebration of Walt Disney World. Following his experience at Disney, Mr. Ramagos became a project manager of large show events for Presentation Services Audio Visual where he worked for five years producing shows for organizations such as: the US government/military, pharmaceutical companies, and medical industries. He has also made a name for himself in the television, film, and music industries including working as a production management liaison on the Andra Day music video, "The Only Way Out", featured in the 2016 film Ben Hur. As Senior Event and Concert Manager for Busch Gardens he managed and booked all park-wide events and concerts and worked with various groups i.e.: The Oakridge Boys, .38 Special, Frankie Avalon, The Lettermen, Mercy Me, Sanctus Real, Stellar Kart, Third Day, NEEDTOBREATHE, Revive, Newsboys, December Radio, KJ-52, Sevenglory, TobyMac, Mandisa, Brandon Heath, Kansas, The Commodores, Little River Band, Foreigner, and Loverboy.
Throughout his professional journey, Mr. Ramagos has been honored with multiple awards for his directorial and technical work including four best director awards and five acting awards. In 2018 he won best director in Southern Oregon for his production of Priscilla Queen of the Desert which also won best show of the year in The Rogue Valley. Mr. Ramagos was selected first runner-up for a "Big Easy Award" in the category of best lighting designer in New Orleans in 2016.
Some of his accomplishments include: increasing volunteerism 20% in a six-month period, creating a rental program to raise money to install new theater curtains, raising $39,000 from a patron to purchase equipment at another theater, and creating a new marketing plan that increased sales by 25%. He also increased ticket sales from 55% to 89% in one year balancing a production budget and hiring new employees while increasing the quality of productions overnight. Experiences that span from theme park operations to events, fairs and festivals, concerts, theaters, museums, hotels, film, and television molded Shawn into a true entertainment professional.
