Some of his recent award-winning projects include the H Resort Seychelles, Autograph Collection Humaniti Hotel Montreal, The Watermark at Brooklyn Heights - the most luxurious senior living facility available in New York, high-end residences at Summit Midtown Manhattan, the upcoming Le Sherbrooke Condominium Montreal and one of the most energy-efficient residential buildings ever built, the Curv Condominium Tower in Vancouver, the tallest "PassivHaus" structure in the world.
Mr. Escobar was born in Medellin, Colombia, schooled in Montreal, Canada. He served with Leonard Ostroff Design Associates, Goyette Duplessis & Assoc., Quesnel Smolens & Assoc. as chief designer, founder of IDI Design Development, where he was Design Principal and Partner. During the early 2000s, Mr. Escobar founded his own practice in New York, and as the Principal of Andres Escobar & Associates, became quickly renowned for his vision and creativity in hospitality, retail, corporate and residential design. He was lauded for projects such as the Gretsch Building Williamsburg Brooklyn, the J Condo Dumbo Brooklyn, 49 John St. Condos Lower Manhattan, Marriott Hudson Yards NYC, the Sheraton and Westin Hotels in Flushing Queens, The Walker Hotel Greenwich Village NYC, and The Harsen House, The Corner and The Olcott Building on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. In 2015 he joined forces with the iconic Canadian architectural practice Lemay, creating the global brand Lemay + Escobar Architecture D.P.C., where he is now Partner and Design Principal, liaising with partners and clients to ensure the flawless delivery of every project.
Mr. Escobar's influence extends beyond his headquarters in New York and Montreal throughout the world to Miami, Coral Gables, West Palm Beach, Houston, New Delhi, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Europe, and China.
