While studying hematology five decades ago, Dr. Khansari's professor led a discussion regarding white blood cells. However, at the time, scientists were not completely aware of the function of white blood cells. From that moment, Dr. Khansari was driven to discover their purpose. During the early years of his career, he began in the field as a professor with Tehran University of Medical Sciences from 1992 to 2011. Additionally, he gained valuable expertise in medicine as owner of NK-Immunotherapy from 2009 until 2021, a scientific assistant for the Iranian Biosafety Capacity Building Project between 2016 and 2020 and as editor-in-chief of the Vaccine & Vaccination Research International Journal from 2017 to 2020.
Supported by years of varied expertise, Dr. Khansari excels today as a member of the board of directors and as the medical laboratory director at Gandhi Hotel Hospital. An expert in his field, he holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tehran and a Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in immunology from the University of Illinois. Additionally, he earned a clinical pathology specialty certificate through the American Clinical Pathology Association and completed postdoctoral studies in cellular and molecular immunology through the University of South Carolina.
To remain aware of developments affecting his field, Dr. Khansari aligns himself with the New York Academy of Sciences, the American Association of Immunologists, the American Society for Microbiology, the American Society for Cell Biology, the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Clinical Immunology Society. Throughout the course of his career, he has authored and co-authored 75 publications, including "Role of environmental factors in evolution of cancer," "Role of bacterial infection in the developement and progression of gastric cancers" and "New hope for cancer immunotherapy; viral based cancer vaccines." In a career filled with highlights, he is most proud of his research. Looking toward the future, Dr. Khansari aims to continue his research while mentoring others.
